I’m reposting awesome food news I’ve heard from various sources including the Chicago Tribune, Aloha Eats (Mahalo!), Gapers Block, Chicagoist, and Chicago Food Trux! Phew, long list indeed!
Evanston will be holding its first Food Truck Festival on Sunday, June 26 2011!
So far there are only three food trucks that will be showing up, but who knows, there might be even more on the day of the event.
For more information, check them out in the links below.
Here’s some AWESOME news coming from Gapers Block on more FOOD TRUCKS! “Starting Thursday June 30th, Ethyl’s Beer and Wine Dive will be hosting at least seven (seven!!) area trucks in their West Loop parking lot for what they’re calling Truckin’ Thursdays a patio smorgasbord collaboration with Chicago Food Trucks.”
This is so exciting! Personally, I’m really hoping that the Gaztro Wagon and the Uptown Pies trucks swings by. Fingers crossed for the food truck list to appear!
Don’t forget the TASTE OF CHICAGO! Taken directly from the Chicago Foodies website, the map of the vendors! BY THE WAY, if you’re looking to buy food tickets, call Dominicks, the grocery store. They’re offering $6 for food tickets that normally cost $8. I THINK this promotion goes until June 23rd (today!) so call to see if they still have them. Hope you score some tickets!
For folks who are into Japanese festivals, here’s something that might be of interest to you! The Midwest Buddhist Temple will be hosting the 56th Annual Ginza Festival in the historic Old Town Chicago land area! Dates include:
Friday, August 12th, 2011, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Saturday, August 13th, 2011, 11:30 am – 9:30 pm
Sunday, August 14th, 2011, 11:30 am – 6:00 pm
The organizers of the GINZA HOLIDAY are looking for VOLUNTEERS for the event! If you’re interested, please contact them to volunteer!
